Cigar News: 2nd Release of Davidoff’s 25th Anniversary

Davidoff has announced the official release, or re-release, of their limited 25th Anniversary cigar. The inaugural release of the anniversary sticks came in 2013 and while the anniversary part – celebrating Davidoff’s 25th year in the US Market – is a bit of a head scratcher, the Dominican puro was welcomed with everything but a ticker tape parade.
Originally priced at $22 per cigar (2013), critics, fans and aficionados seemed to think they were worth every penny. Now, 6 years later almost to the month, Davidoff is re-releasing the 25th anniversary in the hopes the cigars pack the celebratory punch they did prior. Many of the characteristics of the 2013 cigar carry over to the 2019 edition.

For starters, the 2019 version continues the tradition of being a Domincan puro and like it did in 2013, the 2019 cigar too is cloaked in a Yamasa wrapper. The newest cigar is also available only in a single vitola, a 5″ x 56 fat robusto, but unlike 2013’s “Robusto Gordo”, 2019 tempts with the “Super Robusto” moniker: same size, different vitola name.
By now you’re probably thinking pricing surely wouldn’t remain in tact at $22 and you’d be right as the one glaring difference in the two releases is the 2019 cigar has an MSRP $10 higher – $32. Cigars will be available through Davidoff’s website and select retailers beginning tomorrow, December 12, 2019 at 10:30 am EDT.
