Cigar News: My Father Cigars Announces Official Release of La Promesa at IPCPR
It all started with a promise to his family. A promise that when he left Cuba, Jose “Pepin” Garcia would be successful. Prove himself. Today, Garcia’s stellar success and growth as an industry icon not only embodies this promise, but also honors his family and heritage. While his mission may or may not be accomplished, Garcia desired a tangible reflection of his promise to his family and the result is La Promesa.
The La Promesa line was initially released in limited quantities in 2016, presumably to get under the wire of the final deeming deadline. These types of short-lived releases were commonplace among many premium cigar makers during this time in order to avoid costly fees associated with the FDA’s new regulatory stance on the release of new products.
La Promesa features an Ecuadorian Habano rosado oscuro wrapper with Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos sourced from the My Father farms in Nicaragua and is produced at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelì. La Promesa will be available in 5 vitolas packaged in boxes of 20:
– Petite (4.5″x50)
– Corona Gorda (5.5″x48)
– Robusto Grande (5.5″x54)
– Toro (6″x52)
– Lancero (7.5″x38)
My Father plans to “relaunch” the La Promesa at the IPCPR trade show later this month in Las Vegas. Pricing for the cigars will reportedly be in the range of $7.80 – $10. – In Fumo Pax!
